For those just beginning their crochet journey, we wanted to find a yarn that would be both soft enough for sensitive skin and easy on the wallet.

After much research, we landed on the Craftiss Acrylic Crochet Yarn as an ideal contender.

About the Craftiss Acrylic Crochet Yarn Bundle

According to its website, Craftiss Acrylic Crochet Yarn is a polyester yarn that can be used for crocheting and knitting. It's lightweight, soft to the touch, and easy to work with. In addition, the yarn comes in multiple colors, so you can find one to match any project you have in mind.

Craftiss Acrylic Crochet Yarn is entirely constructed of acrylic fiber. This material is simple to clean and maintain because all you have to do is hand wash it or throw it in the washing machine on a soft cycle with cold water. If needed, dry cleaning is also possible; just avoid using bleach because it weakens the integrity of the material.

Craftiss Acrylic Crochet Yarn is a great choice for beginners who want something affordable but high-quality enough for basic projects. Undertakings like scarves, hats, and blankets are perfect because they are made from sturdy acrylic fibers without fraying ends like cotton or wool would after being cut repeatedly (think about how quickly cotton socks start looking ratty).

But here at Thread Stop, we'll gladly review what we liked and didn't like about each product. So, how did this yarn stand up to other requirements in a good yarn? Let's break it down:

The Verdict

Softness

While most people agree that acrylic is soft, it will not be to everyone's taste. With wool and cotton being the two natural fibers sold in the market, people might raise their eyebrows at an acrylic yarn being soft.

However, according to multiple accounts, the Craftiss Acrylic Crochet Yarn is soft enough to be used in handicrafts. Some even wrote that their pets prefer the material; not too soft and not too rough - it's just right.

This is a great option for beginners who want to start working with acrylic yarn since it is easy to use and doesn't require you to learn any special stitches. If you want something a little softer than traditional acrylic, you're free to look at other brands. However, we suggest trying out this yarn before venturing into softer materials.

Stretch

Pros:

  • It maintains its shape, even if it has been stretched multiple times.
  • You can use this for accessories like hats, scarves, cowls, and even little coasters.
  • This also has the right stretchiness to make crochet amigurumi or crochet stuffed toys.

Cons:

  • It isn't as stretchy as cotton or wool.
  • Trying to get this stuff over your head if you need it stretched out further than its natural size would be a nightmare.
  • It isn't recommended for clothes unless you're knitting or crocheting a garment with fixed measurements.

While the Craftiss acrylic yarn fares well in terms of softness, it didn't exactly live up to our stretch test. This yarn would do well for projects like blankets or coasters. However, it would be best to look at other options, especially if you want your project to be worn like a hat. It is simply not stretchy enough.

Splitability

You know that feeling of holding yarn and having it be just right? You're not sure how to describe it, but you know when you have found the one? You will probably feel the same way about Craftiss acrylic yarn once you get your hands on it. It's not too soft or itchy, but not too rough either.

It can be separated into smaller strands for tasks requiring finer details such as lace doilies or scarves. If your project calls for color changes, this is a great option because each skein has numerous hues, allowing for simple blending without having to worry about pooling at the bottom and generating stripes where there shouldn't be any!

Our only concern:

Each skein has a weave inconsistency. You'll also notice that the strands are a bit thin, particularly at the halfway point to the end of the skein which could be remedied with layering. Other than that, it has good splitability.

No more frantic shopping in crafting aisles for hard-to-find colors. No longer do you have to stick to less than three colors. Now, all those specific shades are available from your favorite online retailer!

And if this isn’t reason enough - they're extremely affordable, too.

Affordability

Compared to other acrylic yarns that sell each skein separately or wool yarns that are also good for practicing stitches, the Craftiss acrylic yarn is more affordable. Scratch that - its price point can’t even be compared to craft yarns in general. What more could you ask for?

Hobbyists spend most of their money on buying quality materials, which aren't cheap. They also opt to get more of what they need in case they want to create a new project with a different color scheme. Without the free balls of yarn they get from their friends and yard sales, it can be a tad expensive, especially if you want to upkeep your inventory

However, for only $25.99 on Amazon? You can get 30 skeins of colorful yet durable yarn! Each skein has 8s/4 plies, 3 DK weight yarn, and 40 meters of yarn. That's almost 1300 yards in 30 different colors! Because of the acrylic material's ability to maintain color, the hues are meant to stay vibrant even after washing.

If you don't think you need 30 skeins of yarn, they are also available in multi-color for 12's and 16's, just like their 30's. Regardless of skein count, each set still offers the option of buying less because they have everything you need.

This bundle makes it a breeze to keep your various yarns organized, as it comes in a resealable storage bag. Because the bag is translucent, you'll be able to identify and remove the yarn you need immediately. Just between us… We also don't like the mess that comes with identifying colors in opaque yarn organizers.

The Catch:

Although it is sturdy, you don't need to keep replacing it; each skein is quite small. Along with our concern about its thread consistency, you may want to purchase another set of this for bigger projects.

The Craftiss Acrylic Crochet Yarn is a great affordable yarn for beginners and enthusiasts alike.

While it has its letdowns, this yarn is still a great choice for beginners and more experienced crocheters looking for bright color options for their small projects. It's affordable, soft, and splittable. You can find it in a wide range of colors, too!

Conclusion

We hope you've found this review of the Craftiss Acrylic Crochet Yarn helpful, and yes, it's one of our favorites! Not only is it soft, sturdy, and easy to work with, it's also an affordable yarn great for beginners to use with their first crochet projects.
